Drills! Drills! Drills! General Overview
If you just cannot fit a 6-week course into your schedule right now or are currently taking a dance class and want more practice, then this is the class for you! Drill classes are for those students who are currently enrolled in or have at least completed the Discover Bellydance: Session 101 level class. It is highly recommended to take these classes along with, or as a supplement to your Discover Bellydance Series classes.
Drills! Drills! Drills! will break down movements from the 100 level Discover Bellydance Series. Dance movements may be from classes level 101-104 (no veil or zill work). All movements will be slowly broken down before drilling them, so that classes are helpful and suited to all students, regardless of if they have covered the material in their Discover Bellydance Series class yet or not.
There is no set curriculum or progression from week to week, so students may jump in at any time or take a week off without disrupting their progress. After breaking down the movements and learning them, you will drill these movements, spending a good amount of time with each one, so that each student feels comfortable with it before class is over. Some classes will incorporate fun ways of putting movements together that you can take with you and practice on your own. Movement will be incorporated into each class, so you will start learning weight changes with the movements and how to travel with them. There are no handouts in this class, but paper is provided to take notes on.
