Discover Bellydance Series
Designed for the student with little to no knowledge of bellydance, this series starts with lessons in basic posture, breakdown of movements, drilling technique and an introduction to the history and culture behind the dance. There are four beginner sessions in this series, 101, 102, 103 & 104, totaling 24 classes. Each session is six weeks long and will build on the previous one. Some sessions will include a short choreography, so students will be dancing right away!

Session 101: This session is the very first class to take if you have little or no experience with bellydance. These six classes will include instruction on correct posture and a breakdown of several beginner bellydance movements. You will learn a figure eight, up-hips, down-hips, hips circles, full body circles, camels and more! Practicing these movements every week will help them “sink in” and become part of your muscle memory, allowing you to dance like a natural. Handout topics will include the history of bellydance, Arabic words heard in popular songs, famous dancers, movement breakdowns and more. You will learn a short choreography to a popular Middle Eastern song and be bellydancing right away!
